We reopened a small hotel from 1889 with uneven floors, a country-style kitchen, and the fjord, glacier and mountains right on our doorstep.
Welcome.
Restful stays. Simple comfort
Sleep on beds made from pure natural materials and wake up to freshly brewed coffee, eggs from our own hens, freshly baked sourdough bread, local cheeses, and views of the fjord and mountains.
The kitchen
We believe good food begins with good relationships - to the farmer, to nature.
Our menus follow the rhythm of the seasons, drawing on fish, meat, fruit, berries and vegetables from the garden, small farms and landscape around us.
“The place and the people between the mountains, beyond time and within the heart”
Wander across the glacier and through the surrounding mountains, or slip into your robe and find a slower pulse in the sauna by the fjord. Enjoy the greenhouse in the small, wild garden, and the taste of Hardanger in todays menu.
The walls from 1889 are once again filled with life, and the tables with food made from ingredients drawn from the nature around us. We hope you get inspired, unwind with family and friends and stay for a while.
You are warmly welcome.
